Description
Somerton Hall is an early 19th century house built of grey gault brick. It stands three storeys tall and features a five-window range with double-hung sashes that have glazing bars, set in plain reveals. The central section, which has one window, slightly projects forward and is flanked by end pilasters. Stone bands run across the outer window ranges between the storeys. The main entrance has a central doorway topped with a rectangular fanlight and is framed by a stucco doorcase with plain Doric columns in antis and a cornice. The roof is hipped and covered with slate.
To the east, there is a single-storey range of outbuildings that has five segmental arched blank arches. The central part of this range, which features three smaller arches and rectangular panels above, also slightly projects forward. At the east end, a short wing extends southward and includes four semi-circular open arches, with slate roofs. The front of the property is marked by two large octagonal gate piers topped with stone caps.
