Description
The White House is a 16th-century timber-framed house located on Church Lane in Nayland with Wissington. It features a cross wing at the north end and has later additions built onto this end. The house is two storeys high. The upper storey of the cross wing has exposed timber-framing and was originally jettied, but it is now underbuilt in brick. The main block of the house is plastered. On the north side of the cross wing, there is a three-storey addition with the lower part faced in painted brick. This addition has one window range and displays 18th to 19th-century external features. At the north end, there is a later two-storey addition that has two window ranges. The windows throughout the house are generally double-hung sashes with vertical glazing bars. The roofs are covered with old tiles.
