Description
Number 9, including the outbuilding adjoining on the north, is a building originally constructed as a 15th-century hall house. It has been altered over time, particularly with the insertion of a floor and the raising of the roof, which now continues across the wings. The roof is tiled, and the original roof structure is still intact, featuring a cambered and braced tie beam and a crown post. The building has been renovated and stands two storeys high, with a four-window range of modern casements that include leaded lights. There is an old arched doorway with a boarded door. Inside, the original screen passage has been preserved. The outbuilding to the north is currently undergoing restoration, revealing its heavy timber-framing, and it was previously used as a wheelwright's shop.
