Description

No. 86 on Church Street is a 16th-century timber-framed and plastered building, with the timber framing prominently displayed on the front. The roof is tiled and features a ridge chimney stack with two square shafts set diagonally. The building has two storeys, with the upper storey jettied on exposed joists. There is one range of small original mullioned windows, which have been restored, featuring leaded lights, alongside a two-window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars. A four-panel door is accessed by steps. This building is recognized for its significance as part of a street group that includes Nos. 85 to 91 consecutively.
