Description
16 and 17 Market Place is a building located in Lavenham, originally constructed as separate dwellings in the 15th to 16th century. No 16 features a timber-framed and plastered structure with double gables at the front, although the north-west gable is hidden by the upper storey of Nos 14 and 15. The timber-framing was exposed before significant alterations in the late 19th century. No 17 was originally the north-west cross wing of an adjoining 15th-century house, which is now part of the Angel Hotel. The roofs are tiled, and the building has two storeys and attics. It includes a two-window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars. No 17 also features an 18th or early 19th-century shop bow window with glazing bars. Inside, there are large beams and open fireplaces.
