Description
Holly Lodge Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th and 18th centuries that has been significantly modernised. It is constructed of red brick and features a steeply pitched 20th-century pantile roof that has replaced the original thatch. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a four-window range on the north side that is widely spaced, featuring 19th and 20th-century casements. There are two gabled entrance porches, one of which has a crow-stepped gable. The eastern end of the farmhouse is older and includes a moulded brick string course at the first-floor level. The crow-stepped gable on the east side also has moulded brick string courses and kneelers, with three 3-light casements in the gable. The roof has two chimney stacks along the ridge line, with one located opposite the crow-stepped entrance porch. The west gable is parapeted, and there is a lower 1½ storey projection that features 3-light segmental headed casements in the gable, along with a brick dentil eaves course. Inside the eastern end, there are quadrant moulded tie beams with barred ogee stops.
