Description
The stable block, located approximately 50 meters north of Gillingham Hall, dates from the early 19th century but includes some earlier materials. It features a hipped roof covered with pantiles, although the front elevation has 20th-century replacement tiles. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical south front with seven bays. The outer bays contain double door openings set under segmental brick arches, along with two stable doors that have segmental head brick panels above them. There are cross casement windows with leaded glazing and two upper loading doors in the outer bays. A lean-to with a catslide roof is situated on the north side, which has a ladder stair leading up to the first floor. A chimney stack is positioned on the north side of the ridge. This stable block is included for its group value.
