Description
Little Potash is a lobby-entrance type cottage dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It features an apparent timber frame with a brick plinth, rendered brick infill, and a pantiled roof. The cottage is two storeys high with an attic and has five pairs of irregularly spaced principal posts. There are two boarded doors with lean-to hoods, one located opposite an off-centre axial stack. The windows include three 4-light chamfered mullion windows that have replaced former 6-light diamond mullion windows, along with two single light windows and one 20th-century window. The gable end also has chamfered mullion windows. At the rear, there is a later external stack, while the main stack features angled shafts and an original winding stair on the side. Additionally, there is a timber-framed lean-to on the north side.
