Description

Oak House and Wincar House are two houses located on Cock Street in Wymondham, dating back to the 16th century with later alterations. The buildings are timber-framed with brick elements and feature pantile roofs, with the roof of Wincar House being black-glazed.

Oak House, numbered 19, has two storeys with exposed close-studded timber-framing. It has a plank double-leaf door to the right, likely leading to a former carriage archway, and a three-light 19th-century metal casement window to the left. The first floor jetties out and is supported by a plain bressumer, with two 2-light 18th-century casements lighting the first floor under the eaves. The house has a gabled roof and an internal gable-end stack on the south side. The south gable wall is made of brick and features cut brick kneelers at the jetty and eaves.

Wincar House, numbered 21, is rendered and finished with snowcem. It also has two storeys and an underbuilt jetty on the first floor. The ground floor includes a 20th-century half-glazed door to the left and a late 19th-century sash window to the right. Above the sash window, there is a three-light 19th-century metal casement window on the first floor. This house also has a gabled roof.
