Description

Guardhouse, built in 1939 to an Air Ministry pattern in brick.

PLAN: The guardhouse comprises a single room with a latrine behind.

EXTERIOR: The guardhouse is of red brick laid in Flemish bond with a half glazed timber door and iron Crittall type windows under a hipped tiled roof. The front of the building has a veranda supported by two brick piers.

INTERIOR: The interior of the guardhouse is a single cell with an adjacent latrine. The latrine retains cast iron and ceramic fittings.

SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: A small brick bicycle shed is located adjacent to the guardhouse.
