Description
The RAF Stoke Holy Cross Receiver Reserve is a buried reserve receiver block built in 1939 according to an Air Ministry design. It is constructed from brick and capped with concrete and earth.
The layout includes a stairwell that leads into an operations room through a gas lock. From the operations room, there are rooms for an air conditioning plant and a latrine. An emergency exit provides access to a ladder and hatch at the opposite end of the operations room.
On the exterior, the buried reserve features a concrete plinth with two concrete hatches on rollers, which are now buried. There are also two ventilator shafts, both missing caps, located to the east of the entrance hatches. Additionally, the four bases of the reserve transmitter tower are situated to the north.
The interior was inaccessible during the assessment in 2023 because the entrance to the buried reserve has been sealed.
