Description
Juniper House is a house from the 17th century and later, likely timber-framed, with a red brick exterior and a thatched roof. It has an L-shaped plan and consists of one storey and an attic. The gable end of the rear range is made of 17th-century brick in English bond and features a crowstepped gable with an internal stack that has two lozenge-shaped shafts. The forward wing, added in the 18th century, is constructed in Flemish bond with coloured headers and has a single-storey lean-to at the front made of 18th-century brick, topped with a shallow pitched pantile roof and parapets.
The eastern facade has two late 20th-century three-light casements with glazing bars, while the southern facade features two dormers with three-light casements and ground floor openings that include late 20th-century glazing with glazing bars and segmental arches. The central doorway is flanked by a two-light casement on the left and a single-light casement on the right. The rear range has a north-facing facade that was refronted in the 20th century in stretcher bond, with an axial stack to the right, a 20th-century door to the left, and two late 20th-century three-light casements with glazing bars to the right, along with two dormers similar to those on the 18th-century wing. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
