Description
The Cottage, Grimbles General Store, and Ashfords is a 17th-century building located on the east side of The Street in Long Stratton. It is timber-framed and now has a roughcast exterior. The building features a steeply pitched roof with gable ends covered in new tiles and stands two storeys tall. The first floor jetties out on curved brackets and includes six widely spaced three-light casement windows, with modern windows in the center.
On the ground floor, Ashfords has a small canted shop window with glazing bars, while Grimbles features a larger square bay shop window with glazing bars and a panelled door. The Cottage has a vertical boarded door with cover moulds and a three-light casement window. There are also two old brick chimney stacks present.
