Description

The Old Court House is a building dating from the 19th century, with earlier elements. It is constructed of brick, with a yellow brick facade on the south side and red brick on the north side, featuring prominent full-height pilasters and a moulded eaves cornice. The steeply pitched pantile roof has gabled ends. The building is one storey high. The road-facing elevation has four two-light windows with segmental brick arches, and four larger windows high up under the eaves. A late 19th-century panelled door is located beneath the windows. A small, late 19th-century wooden bellcote, featuring bracketed eaves and a short slated spire, is also present. The south end of the building has a brick finial at the gable head, incorporating a wind vane and a small four-centred headed panel below, and a round-headed blind window above a round-headed sash window with glazing bars.
