Description

Turnpike Cottage is a 17th and 18th century timber-frame cottage located on the Turnpike in Carleton Rode. The cottage has been plastered and is roofed with thatch, featuring gabled and half-hipped ends. It is a one-storey and attic building with two windows, which are modern casements. There are also modern dormers. A central brick chimney stack is present. Modern additions include a porch at the center and a lean-to on the south end.
