Description
The building occupied by C R Pettengell and Son and the adjoining cottages to the south dates from the 17th century, with later alterations. It is a single structure that features a timber frame with plastered panels and a pantile roof with gable ends. The left end is made of painted brick from the 18th or 19th century. The building has two storeys, with the first floor projecting outwards. There are three windows on the upper floor, which are three-light casements. On the ground floor to the right, there are four-light fixed windows and two fielded-panel doors. The shop on the left is from the 19th century, featuring a fluted frieze and a small cornice, although the shop window itself is modern.
