Description

This is a pair of mid-19th century houses located on Baxter Road, Hingham. The front of the houses are faced with large whitewashed bricks giving the appearance of sandstone ashlar. They have a low-pitched roof covered with black glazed pantiles and gable ends. The houses are two storeys high with three windows. The windows are two-light casements; between the first-floor windows there are decorative panels containing ornate Greek crosses, and over the ground-floor windows are four small Tudor roses. The front doors are single plank with cover moulds and large drip moulds on corbel heads. The chimney stacks are made of ornate moulded terracotta; the central chimney has a single flue, while the end chimneys have twin flues.
