Description
Nos. 7 and 9 Chapel Street are a pair of houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from flint cobbles with painted brick quoins and window and door surrounds. The houses feature a slate roof with stepped gable ends and brick dentil eaves. They are two storeys high and consist of three bays. The centre of the first floor has a round-headed niche instead of a window, which holds a sculptured figure on a pedestal. The windows are round-headed Gothic sashes with intersecting glazing bars, set in brick quoin surrounds. The central arched doorway has two doors, with No. 9 featuring a Gothic panelled door and 20th-century porches. Brick chimney stacks are located over the gable ends.
