Description

This is a timber-framed farmhouse, likely dating from the early 17th century. A date of 1618 is said to be carved into a beam inside. In the late 19th century, the timber frame was faced with buff-coloured brick. The roof is steeply pitched and covered in black glazed pantiles with gabled ends. A brick chimney stack has been rebuilt and is off-centre, with another at the north end. The house is two storeys high with an attic, featuring an attic window in the end gable. It has three windows on the front elevation. The windows are 19th-century sashes with glazing bars; the ground floor features two splayed bays of sashes, and a 19th-century gabled porch sits in front of the central chimney stack. Other external details include brick dentil eaves, pilasters, keyblocked lintels over the windows and door, and gables with 19th-century pierced bargeboards. The rear of the house is rendered and includes a small gabled rear wing.
