Description
The Retreat and two adjoining tenements are likely from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building features plastered timber-framing and has gable-ended roofs that are tiled and partly covered with pantiles, with the front gabled at the north end. It consists of two storeys and has five windows, which include two and three-light casement windows as well as some sash windows with glazing bars. There are two glazed doors and one panelled door, along with brick chimney stacks. At the rear, there is a small plastered wing that has a steeply pitched gable-ended roof made of pantiles. The south end of the building is faced with modern bricks.
