Description

Nos 1 and 2 on Norwich Road are a 16th century timber-frame house that was refashioned in the 18th century. The exterior is plastered and features a steep hipped roof covered in black glazed pantiles, along with a modillion eaves cornice. There are two brick chimney stacks, one off centre and another near the west end. The building has two storeys and four widely spaced windows, which are 18th or 19th century three-light casements. There are two doorways located in front of the stacks, each with shouldered architrave doorcases topped with pediments and fielded panel doors. The doorway for No 3 is a modern reproduction. Inside No 1, there is a moulded and crenellated ceiling beam.
