Description
Church Farmhouse is a 16th or 17th century timber-framed house that has been plastered. It features a steep gable-ended roof covered with peg-tiles and pantiles and stands two storeys high. The house has casement windows, some of which are modern. At the centre, there is a two-storeyed gabled porch that includes a four-light mullion/transom window and a sash window, with a lean-to structure on the side. To the left of the porch, there is a fielded panel door.
At the rear, there is a central gabled staircase wing that contains stairs believed to be original, complete with a turned balustrade. A fine brick chimney stack is located off centre and has four circular moulded brick flues, along with another brick stack at the south end. The south-west wing, which is at right angles to the main house, was likely originally a cottage. This section is also plastered timber-frame with a steep gable-ended pantile roof, two storeys high, and features casement windows, some of which are blocked, as well as a brick chimney stack at the end.
