Description
Uwunda House and Corner House is a 17th to 18th century building located on Upper Street in Gissing. The structure features a plastered timber frame and a steep black glazed pantile roof with gabled ends. It has two storeys and an attic, with attic windows situated in the gable ends. The building includes 19th century and modern casement windows, as well as a modern glazed door and porch. An off-centre brick chimney stack adds to its character. Notably, there is an early 18th century doorway on the south end of Corner House, which has a moulded doorcase with a pediment adorned with modillions and a pulvinated frieze. To the right, there is a projecting one-storey wing that was formerly a village shop from the late 19th century. A lean-to structure is located at the rear.
