Description

Wacton War Memorial is a structure commemorating those who fell in the First World War, erected around 1920. It is prominently located within the churchyard to the north of All Saints Church. The memorial is made of marble and takes the form of an obelisk, which is set on a two-tiered plinth. This plinth is enclosed by a square area defined by low marble posts linked by chains. The upper edge of the top tier of the plinth is moulded, while the lower tier features a simple chamfer. At the front of the enclosure, on either side of the approach to the memorial, there are two small urns.

The upper tier of the plinth displays the names of the fallen in leaded lettering. These names are also recorded within the church on a hand-written wall-hung Roll of Honour.
