Description

This is a pair of houses (Nos. 57 and 59) and a single house (No. 61) forming part of a terrace of three, dating to the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of red brick with pantile roofs.

Nos. 57 and 59 have three storeys and three first-floor windows. A double-order rubbed brick arch frames a pair of central doors. The jambs of the arch splay outwards, creating a steep four-centre fanlight above each door, though the fanlight to No. 57 has been altered. Sash windows with glazing bars are present at the first and second floors, each with a rubbed brick flat arch. The ground floor windows are boarded over. A central casement window at the second floor of No. 57 has been bricked up. A box cornice runs along the top of the building.

No. 61 is a single house with three storeys and a single wide bay. The right-hand door has a fanlight and is approached by three steps. Above the door is a plain pilaster with a triglyph and a flat hood with a dentil course. A small, partly glazed door is located at the left side. Sash windows with glazing bars are present at the first and second floors, each with a flat rubbed brick arch. A crude casement window is at ground floor level.
