Description

Fairfield is a late 19th-century house located on the north-east side of Lime Tree Road. It is built of yellow brick with ashlar detailing, topped with a hipped slate roof and featuring three brick chimneys. The house is two storeys high and has three windows on the first floor. Rusticated brick quoins define the corners. A half-glazed door, accessed by two steps, is recessed and has a leaded fanlight, sheltered by a round-headed decorative hood supported by two pink granite columns. Canted bays are present on the left and right sides, featuring string courses and large-paned sash windows with horns and basket heads, all protected by stopped drip moulds. Overhanging eaves complete the appearance. Fairfield does not appear on Morant’s Map of Norwich from 1873.
