Description
No. 24 Magdalen Street is a 18th-century building that serves as shops with flats above. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof. The building stands three storeys tall and has six bays, with the left-hand bay recessed to accommodate a carriage entry that has a rubbed brick four-centre arch. A central panelled door is accessed by five steps and is framed by a Tuscan column surround on tall pedestals, which support an open pediment. Above the door is a semi-circular fanlight with curvilinear glazing bars. The building has 20th-century shopfronts on either side of the door and 20th-century sash windows throughout, which include glazing bars and rubbed brick flat arches. A modillion cornice completes the design.
