Description

Nos. 1, 3, and 5 Palace Street are a former building of unknown use, now functioning as shops. The structure dates from the late 16th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The ground floor features a brick front wall, while the rear wall is constructed of flint and brick. The first floor is timber framed and has a jetty. The right-hand end displays irregular close timbering, while the left-hand end is finished in stucco with mock applied timber framing. There are five modern shopfronts, with sash windows and casements above. The roof is two-sloping with three gabled dormers.
