Description
This is a house dating from the 15th century, with significant alterations in the 17th and early 19th centuries. It is constructed of flint with a close studding frame, rendering, brick, and originally thatched. The main facade features a ground-floor precinct wall leading to a 19th-century doorcase. The first floor has a jettied close studding frame with two timber casement windows, one with a 19th-century hood mould, and two further blocked windows, a three-light and a four-light. A dormer window above the door contains a three-light casement. The gable ends are stepped. The garden elevation includes a three-storey projecting porch, open to the ground floor and now glazed. A single-storey projecting bay sits to the right. There is one window on each side of the porch at ground level, and tall three-light casements with hood moulds are present at the first-floor level. The group value arises from the building’s age and significant alterations.
