Description
The East Wards at The Great Hospital, built in the 1820s, are now used as meeting rooms. The building is constructed of yellow brick and features a slate roof, with two brick end chimneys and one ridge stack. It is a single-storey structure with a symmetrical design, comprising an eight-window range. The central section has a blind recess with a drip mould, flanked by Tudor style four-light casements that also have hood moulds, arranged in a pattern of 1:2:2:1. The entrance consists of ribbed double-leaf doors that are deeply recessed in projecting porches, each topped with pediments on the right and left. The building is finished with a plain parapet that includes a central pediment.
