Description
Nos. 2 and 4 Brigg Street is a building that dates back to the 16th century, with heightening and alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries, and further changes in the 20th century. Originally of unknown use, it now functions as a shop with a restaurant above. The structure features rendered timber-frame construction with pseudo timber-framing. It stands three storeys tall and consists of two main bays, plus an additional bay on the right-hand side. The shopfront is a modern addition from the 20th century, with an entrance to the restaurant on the left side. The building has casement windows and a row of pantiles at the eaves from the 16th century, which is visible beneath the second-floor addition. The roof is not visible from the street.
