Description
The St George and Dragon is a public house dating from the 19th century. It is constructed of rendered brick and features a pantile roof. The building stands three storeys tall and has five first-floor windows. The right-hand door is off-centre and has a rusticated surround with a large quadrant moulded semi-circular arch above it, along with a small flat hood supported by brackets. The ground floor has mullion and transom windows, with a stringcourse at head height. Above, the first-floor sash windows are fitted with glazing bars and feature keystones on the outer windows. The pub's name is displayed above the central window, framed with a raised border and flanked by decorative festoons. The ground floor and quoins are rusticated. Additionally, there is a parish boundary plate from 1827 located on the side elevation facing William Booth Street.
