Description

The Great Hall is a 15th-century hall-house that has been altered in the 17th century and renovated in the 20th century. It now serves as a workshop. The building is constructed of flint with some brick dressings, and has a pantile roof. It is set back and at a right angle to the street line.

The south elevation has scattered windows. A blocked door, featuring a moulded four-centre arch with plain spandrels, is located at the extreme left. A central projecting bay, which replaces what was originally a 15th-century oriel window, has been extended to the right. There is an off-centre entrance, with a two-light window to the right, and a five-light frieze window above. A six-light frieze window is placed above the entrance door at first-floor level. A 17th-century stair window is on the right side. The north elevation features a large, twelve-light mullion and transom window on the ground floor, and two first-floor frieze windows.

Inside, a full-height oriel arch is present, with a four-centre arch and three orders of mouldings. A queen-post roof is partly remade in the 20th century.
