Description

The Market Tavern is a public house from the 19th century, constructed of red brick and featuring a hipped slate roof. It stands three stories tall and has a five-bay façade. The front is divided by six panelled pilasters, which have roundels at the center and Doric capitals that support a fascia. The building includes five four-light sash windows and one central six-light sash window with flanking lights. A paired bracket cornice completes the design. This building is included for its group value with Nos. 36 to 38 Crown Road.
