Description
The barn at Limetree Farm is a small structure, likely built in the late 17th century. It features a combination of flint and English bond brick with brick dressings, topped by a thatched roof. The barn has a rectangular shape and consists of three bays. The lower part of the walls is made of coursed flint, with a few courses of brick just below the eaves. There is a large central door on the east face and a smaller central door on the west face. Slit ventilation openings are present, each with brick reveals. The north gable wall is constructed of flint and features brick diapering, while brickwork is found above the eaves, with the north and south gables shaped. Inside, the slit openings are splayed and have brick reveals. The roof includes tie beams, collar beams, and two rows of butt purlins, with wind braces supporting one row and a ridge piece. Mortices for wall-posts and arch braces are also visible. Limetree Farmhouse is not listed.
