Description

This is a terrace of cottages located at 51 to 57 The Street, dating from the 17th century. The walls are made of flint with red brick dressings, and the roof is covered with red pantiles. The cottages are two storeys high, featuring two bays and three-light iron casement windows with glazing bars, cambered brick arches, and brick surrounds. The doors are boarded and also have brick arches and surrounds. The end bays are quoined, and the cottages have eaves and a steeply pitched roof. There are two symmetrical off-centre stacks. The quoins at the rear indicate that the original structure from the 17th century was reused as cottages for the Holkham Estate in the 19th century.
