Description
West View and the adjoining house are two cottages, mostly from the 18th century, with a wing added in 1874 at the rear. The building is constructed of flint and brick, topped with a pantiled roof and has a T-shaped layout. The front elevation is two storeys high with a random arrangement of windows. It features a flint plinth with a rendered top and the ground floor is made of flint. There is one 20th-century casement window and four 18th-century leaded casements, including one with a cross mullion and transom in a larger opening that has been partly blocked with brick. Another window is a three-light design with a transom and rendered reveals, and there are two 19th-century doors, with the left-hand door having a segmental brick head. The first floor is made of brick and has four 18th-century leaded casements. The building is accented by deep corner pilasters and has gable end stacks as well as axial stacks. The two-storey range at the rear is of no special interest.
