Description
Old Hall Farm House is a farmhouse with a core dating from the 17th century and 18th century details on the east range. It is constructed of brick, with some flint rubble in the east pile, and features a black glazed pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high with attics on the east side and has an 'L' shaped plan that includes a north outshut extension. The south wing of the 'L' plan has an east front showcasing early to mid-18th century details, with the interior integrated into the earlier 17th-century structure.
The façade has five bays, with four ground floor sash windows that have glazing bars and are set under brick soldier arches. The first floor features five sash windows with glazing bars and flat lintel heads. There are 18th-century rusticated piers and an arch with keystones leading to a central 20th-century glazed door. The south side has a kneeler, moulded brick eaves, and a stack at the south end. There are three flat-roofed dormers. The north gable is hipped, accommodating the 18th-century outshut addition, which has a red pantiled roof with a black pantiled lozenge pattern.
The north-west wing dates from the late 17th or early 18th century on the ground floor, with an 18th-century first floor featuring a moulded brick eaves cornice, parapets, and an end stack. Inside, the front pile includes one convex chamfered cross-beam built into the party wall. Other early to mid-18th century details include a ground floor two-bay panelled room with an angle fireplace, dog-leg stairs with 19th-century balusters, and 18th-century dado and panelling in the well and landing. The north-west range has stopped and chamfered ground floor spine beams and a bressumer.
