Description

Manor Farm House is a house dated 1638, constructed of flint and brick with brick dressings and a pantile roof. It has a rectangular plan and features a front with four bays over two storeys. A 20th-century door is located in the second bay. The ground floor has leaded casements from 1983/4 set in earlier openings, with brick reveals beneath hood moulds. The upper storey also has leaded mullions from 1983/4, similarly with brick reveals under hood moulds. On the extreme left of the front, there is a blocked single light opening with an ovolo moulded brick surround and remains of rendering, with chamfered reveals rendered to imitate ashlar. Additionally, there is a blocked two-light opening to the left of the door with an ovolo moulded mullion. Between the floors, there is an alternating brick diamond and heart pattern set into the flint. Brick quoins are present between the third and fourth bays, and the fourth bay features a brick dentil eaves cornice. The house has two internal gable stacks and one axial stack, with the left-hand gable in English bond. There are also two blocked attic windows, with reveals rendered to imitate ashlar. At the rear, there is an outshut to the fourth bay and another outshut to the right-hand gable wall.

Inside, the downstairs room has ovolo moulding on the spine beam and cross beam. There is a brick fireplace with a shallow arched head in the upper room. A wooden lintel from a door, now moved to a cupboard, is carved with the date 1638.
