Description
The Chequers Inn is a public house that dates back to the 17th century or earlier. It is constructed from flint and brick, with a whitewashed finish and a black pantile roof. The building stands two stories tall and features a black flint plinth. On the ground floor, there are three windows with random brick quoins and simple rough arched heads, which are sash windows with glazing bars. There is also a rectangular brick quoined window from the 17th century that has been built into the wall, alongside a four-panel door. The first floor has four windows with blocked surrounds, which are also sash windows with glazing bars, and one 20th-century window on the south side. The gable walls are quoined, and the building has a brick dentil cornice, with kneelers and coped parapets at the end stacks.
