Description
Nos. 29 to 33 and The Forge, located on Binham Front Street, are a row of cottages at right angles to the street, with The Forge set back to the west. These cottages are likely from the early 17th century, with some later alterations. They feature flint and brick walls with brick dressings, and brick quoins that rise above the entrance to No. 31. The cottages have distinctive high-pitched gables with parapets and kneelers, and a central brick stack on a pantile roof. The upper floor has three wood casement windows with two lights and glazing bars. On the ground floor, there are large fixed-light windows under drip moulds on the left and right, and a central brick mullioned and transomed three-light window under a rectangular drip mould. There are also two plain wooden doors under rectangular drip moulds. The shop at No. 33 is attached to the gable end facing the street and has a single-storey lean-to extension with a pantile roof and a wooden door. The Forge is a flint and brick building attached to the north-west corner of the row of cottages.
