Description

Blakeney Mill is a 17th century tower mill located in Wiveton. The remains of the mill are shown on a map from 1769. It is constructed of flint with brick dressings, and the upper parts are made of brick. The tower is circular in plan and consists of three stages with a noticeable batter. The openings feature two-centred arches, and there are sash windows, with casements on the top floor. Inside, there is a great spur wheel and other machinery. Additionally, the weather beam, left hand sheer, and other machinery are stored to the south of the mill. The mill is associated with Norfolk Corn Mills, as noted by H. Apling in 1984.
