Description
These are three cottages located 300 metres south of The Vale, originally a barn that was converted into cottages in the 19th century, dating back to around 1700. The cottages are constructed from flint with brick dressings and feature a red pantiled roof. They are two storeys high. The northern cottage has two ground floor windows and one first floor window at the front. The central cottage is built into what was once a cart entrance, while the southern cottage has one ground floor window and one first floor window, all of which are 19th century 2-light arched headed casements. The openings have brick dressings, brick quoins, and ventilation slits. The southern gable has a brick coped parapet with north-facing purlin irons. The roof is steeply pitched and has two ridge stacks, one of which is partly demolished. Inside, the roof is exposed at the north end, featuring two rows of butt-purlins with wind-bracing to the upper purlins.
