Description
This is a mid-19th century farm barn located at Severals Grange. It is constructed of red brick and features a black glazed pantiled roof. The barn has three sections for threshing, with central cart doors that reach the height of the eaves and a brick dentil eaves cornice. The gables are crenellated and adorned with decayed terracotta busts as kneelers, along with carved stone heads at the apex of the gables. These heads are inscribed with the names "Billy," likely referring to William Norris of Norton Hall, and "Jacob," who was the Lord Hastings of Melton Constable Park at the time. The barn was built by W. S. Phillipo of Severals Grange and Phillipo's Farm in Fulmodeston.
