Description
St John Hall, originally a chapel, now serves as a hall and Masonic Hall. It was built in 1838 and restored in 1893, with a date stone on the gable. The building is constructed of yellow brick with flint panels and has a slate roof. It features brick corner pilasters and parapetted gables, standing two storeys high with a three-bay facade. A central porch is supported by free-standing Tuscan columns. The windows are semi-circular headed, with glazing bars and leaded glazing, and include coloured glass. There are semi-circular rubbed brick arches above the window openings and a continuous drip mould over the first-floor windows. The flank walls are made of flint with brick dressings and also have semi-circular-headed windows. There is a burial ground with a brick and flint boundary wall to the southeast.
