Description

The pair of semi-detached cottages at 1 and 3 Albert Street date to 1820. They are built of uncoursed cobbles with brick dressings, featuring brick quoins, a string course, and eaves dentils. The roof is pantiled and hipped, with a central brick chimney stack. The cottages are two storeys high, with a two-window range and doorways originally on the left and right, although one doorway has been altered to create a window. The left-hand windows are original sash windows with glazing bars. A datestone inscribed "1820" is positioned at the centre of the first floor. The cottages are listed for their contribution to the streetscape.
