Description

This is an early 19th-century pair of buildings at 18 and 20 Albert Street. The front elevation is brick and flint, now rendered and colourwashed. The buildings have a hipped roof, originally pantiled, but now partly covered with modern concrete tiles. They are two storeys in height, with a four-bay facade featuring sash windows with glazing bars. Two six-panelled entrance doors are present, each topped with a rectangular fanlight containing glazing bars. A string course runs along the first floor, and there is a moulded eaves course. Two chimney stacks are symmetrically placed. The building was originally constructed as a Methodist Chapel by the Cozens-Hardy family.
