31-35, STAITHE STREET

31 to 35 Staithe Street is a building from the 17th century that has been altered. It is two stories tall with an attic and features a red brick facade. The front has segmental arches above three flush frame windows on the first floor; two of these are three-light windows with glazing bars, while the third is a modern metal casement. There are three shop fronts, each with wooden cases that have pilasters and a central entrance. The roof is made of pantiles and has three casement dormers. Near the center of the building, there is a recess with a pair of 18th-century six-panel doors in wooden cases. Inside, there is a very wide fireplace with stop-chamfered jambs and a three-centred arch. The building has deeds dating back to around 1710. Nos 27 to 73 Staithe Street form a group with this building.
