Description
Coachman's House, located 50 meters northeast of Barton Hall, was built in 1742. It is constructed of brick and features a roof made of black glazed pantiles. The building has two storeys and an attic, arranged in five bays. The central three bays project slightly forward and are topped with a simple pediment. The entrance consists of a central panelled door with a five-vaned fanlight, set beneath an open pediment supported by pilasters, all made of gault brick. On either side of the door surround, there are arched niches under gauged arches. Above these niches, there are two window aprons with cornices, although there are no windows present. The pediment contains a Diocletian window. The side bays are lit by tall ground floor casements, each featuring five-vaned overlights beneath finely gauged gault brick arches that extend into platbands. Above, there are three-light casements. The roof is hipped and has two stacks on the rear slope.
