Description

The gatehouse at Binham Priory is a detached structure dating from the 15th century. It is built of flint with stone dressings. The gatehouse features ruined north and south walls of the monastic port. On the west side, there are quoins and the springing of a 4-centred arch for the carriage entrance, as well as quoins and the springing of a 2-centred arch for pedestrian access. Each shaft of the arch for the carriage entrance has these architectural details.
